Homework, Grading, & Behavior policy

  • Complete all homework/class work daily so everyone can progress.
  • Ask for help before going home.
  • KES Standards-Based Grading:

    90 -  100%  4  or  ME  Meets w/Excellence

    70   -  89%  3  or  MP  Meets Proficiency

    50   -  69%  2  or  DP  Approaches Proficiency

    0   -    49%  1  or  WB  Well Below Proficiency

RULES

1. Be RESPECTFUL of yours & other people's body, opinion, property, & personal space. (GLO 2 Community Contributor, 5 Effective Communicator)

2. Be RESOURCEFUL by listening, reading, following directions, looking around, using your brain, thinking, solving your own problems. (GLO 1 Self-Directed Learner, 3 Complex Thinker, 4 Quality Producer)

3. Be RESPONSIBLE for your actions, work, attitude. & commitments. Don't give up! (GLO 1 Self-Directed Learner & 4 Quality Producer)

4. Have RELATIONSHIPS with others. Be kind, helpful, & supportive. (GLO 2 Community Contributor)

CONSEQUENCES

1. Name on board = Warning (verbal/non-verbal)

2. 1st check next to name = Removal from activity (Time out)

3. 2nd check next to name = No recess & removal

from activity

4. 3rd check next to name = Send to office with

referral and notify parents

Daily Reading/Math

Please make sure all homework is finished everyday to ensure that your child will feel successful at learning and progress can be made.  If your child still has difficulty, write me a note and I will be sure that (s)he gets the help needed to understand and work independently.

Reading Log

Your child should be reading at least 20 minutes everyday.  (S)He can read anything of his/her choice:  newspaper, book, and magazine.  This is purely for the enjoyment of reading.
